CONCEPT

Starting a new job is exciting and full of possibilities. A new road lies ahead and you might not know what to expect, but you do know that you don’t want "just a job." You want to be a part of something bigger. You want to be a part of an organization with an impactful goal.  You want to be a part of a creative community. You want to be making positive changes in our world. For you - it will never be "just a job."

Through an engaging, informative, and whimsical recruiting video, we will spotlight how Airbnb’s office in San Francisco is more than just an office building, it’s a whole world of creativity, collaboration, and community that is excited to invite young and talented people on board.

While the video will touch on many aspects of what it’s like to work at Airbnb - from the people who work there, to the projects they work on - the ultimate goal of the video is to create an emotion and call to action

Airbnb is building a powerful community and a more connected world. I want to be a part of that!

STORY

People relate to people. So, we start with a person.

What’s their name? What kinds of things do they like? What do they do at Airbnb? What do they feel throughout their day at Airbnb? We learn these facts through a fun and quirky narration as we see them journey through the Airbnb space.  As we move fluidly from one room to the next, we discover another Airbnb-er, and another, and another.

We explore and reveal the entire office. We see a space that is connected, fluid and friendly.  Sleek info-graphics pop in to this visual world to highlight key stats and facts. Narration evokes emotion from the viewer and engages us to see what's coming next.

Once we’ve covered our ground, met the eclectic people who make up the Airbnb team, and glimpse into their lives, the camera pulls out wide to reveal the powerful connectivity of the office and the whole eco-system of Airbnb.

KEY ELEMENTS

1. Narration
The video’s narrator, (narrated by either an actual Airbnb-er with a pre-written script or multiple voices from interviews conducted at Airbnb), will feel fun, honest and personal. The narration will guide the audience through the inter-workings of Airbnb, with a focus on its community and personality.

2. Camera Movement
To convey the connectivity and flow of Airbnb’s offices, the camera never stops moving from one space to another. Using a Steadicam we can glide from room to room following a host different characters.  The final reveal pulls back to show a "doll house" view of the space with our cast of characters working seamlessly together.

3. Info-graphics
The narration will give real examples and real statistics. To visualize these stats and anecdotes, animated info-graphics will pop-up in 3D space in and around the office and track along with our camera movements.

4. San Francisco
Capturing not only what Airbnb HQ is, but where it is, is equally important.  The video will have a flavoring of footage from around San Francisco to show the culture and scenery that hosts this tight-knit Airbnb community.

EXAMPLES

In The Life Aquatic the camera glides from room to room to display the interworking of the boat.

INFO-GRAPHICS POPPING UP IN THE REAL WORLD
